There would be very little abusive naked shorting if brokerage firms chose to follow the law and insure that their clients obtained good delivery. Sadly they don't and I expect some may be exposed by OSTK as things move forward. Go oSTK!!! FWIW I would not be the least bit surprised that brokerages would lend out clients shares and not have permission to nor share in the earnings generated.
