You'll always have outright scams. Unfortunately the sec for whatever reasons allow it to continue. If they wanted to stop it they could. Instead all I've ever heard is that they're undermanned, don't have the resources etc. Meanwhile, they gladly accept the multibillion fines by banks, pharmaceuticals etc. without real prosecution to deter. Where's all this money going anyhow?

On a smaller scale, I see the same thing concerning the p&d's. The bottomline is, it's worth ripping people off for the little slap on the wrist, they get in return.

With that said, you ALSO have companies that truly do have something to offer, but not enough backing to really get going and so what are their options? Let's assume Sint is in this category. Generally, the convertible route is offered. Some ceos clearly don't know what they're doing in regards to these vultures; some feel they have no choice in the interim, hoping to raise enough and eventually reward shareholders, and some just don't care about the shareholders; they're just a means to raise cash. If the story sounds good enough, a company can go on for years this way.

Generally, from strictly a shareholder's position, it's a slow and continual drainage with no chance of recovery. I think chk did a convertible years ago and recovered....but it's very rare. Whether or not it was actually chk, I'm positive of at least one company that beat the odds.

I know this doesn't answer your question other than to say, companies go public for numerous reasons: some legit and some not. It's always to raise capital. Some make it through and shareholders are rewarded and some milk it through destroying the shareholders in the process.

My continued criticism of Sonny is based on the thought that IF he's truly on the up and up, at the very least, he owes shareholders some respect, apologies and thanksgiving for what you've endured and continue to endure in order to help his company help people. But like I said, when I hear different things, such as his getting income from 7 different sources, I can't help but think, he's only or mainly in it for himself. Time will tell..
