There is a simple answer. An IPO is essentially a capital raising exercise. Obviously, they don't need the money.

If Nanosys is making gazillions selling their QD, why have they never done an IPO IN 15 YEARS?

The VC investors don't want any profit from cashing out over all these years? LOL
