Re. O/T. It would be nice if what you say actually happened, but in the real world, sadly, I doubt it will ever be with 'everyone's' agressive a Dog eat Dog attitude, plus too many varying cultures who see life in a more insular perspective. The world is full of bigots, and whilst we'd all like to try to make a difference which some people succeed in doing, it will probably go unnoticed unless you are a higher profile person. Our opinions, rational as they may be, will go by the wayside, apart from those who they are directed to, even though these blogs find their way online.
Probably like you, I have been around for a long time and life was easier way back, now we have all and sundry trying to make their mark on society, just like that Greta Thunberg Kiddy who had a poke at Trump. I went out long term with a Welsh lady for over 10 years, 25 years ago, way older than me and now a old Granny! The Welsh are Lovely people, and I have been to Wales on numerous occasions as it is only 4 hours from here to South Wales, and then a Scottish girl who I became engaged to (short term) but again, lovely hospitable folk.
