Children, teen-agers, and pot heads, who are likely to know of a gun they can pilfer, may do so for a fast, no questions asked, C-note or whatever offer is decided on. Gun owners who properly store their weapons should not be involved at all. Idea is to get as many of the guns held in the hands of felons and other evil peeps out of circulation and if only one out of 100 bought would have been used in a future felony or murder, the price paid by society, or in this proposal by Amazon, as they locate to Chi town, will have been a bargain. And, the PR of how many guns are off the street will be valuable to Amazon.
