Notified Bodies are the groups authorized by the European Commission to approve medical devices (and other products) for sale in Europe and certain other counries (e.g., Turkey). Reimbursement coverage after product approval occurs separately, on a country-by-country basis. Most European countries also have a legal requirement that a distributor be registered with a local address in the country.
