First you must note that trading in PIOE is very thin, except around financial reporting dates. So if we say someone is expecting a pop in price around one of those dates (like we have had many times in the past), then one might want to try a short term trade by buying shares before the report at a low price and then selling those shares after the report is released (hopefully at a higher price).

So my point was is it possible to "steer" the share price lower before the report? I'm suggesting, that yes it might be possible, for a thinly traded stock like PIOE, to encourage selling by posting a large block on the ask. Of course, if one tries this strategy, one has to be prepared to actually sell some of ones shares at the ask price if there happens to be a buyer.

Don't know if this is a "realistic" trading strategy or not. Just proposing it as a possibility. Its certainly not a trading strategy I would undertake.
