I did enjoy the Goodwin! He redeemed the NYpost for today.
A crane is an option, though I don't think it's legal to work with one that close to the power lines. That doesn't always stop the crane guys. More than anything, while my first priority is safety, I also want to keep the cost down.
I could even go the primitive route and build scaffolding high enough to take it down in small pieces (Have chainsaw, will climb). The trees are stout enough that I could attach the scaffolding at various points on the way up, then take it down as the trunk got shorter.
