If some insiders/friends are holding free trading stock and they want to sell before revocation then announcing what they did makes perfect sense. It will help reduce the selling when it opens on the grey’s. They just need to extend the deadline for the “merger” and say they intend to re-register.
It certainly wouldn’t be the first suspended penny ticker to do that only to disappear after the fact.
