imaging certain car manufacturer starts selling 4-cylinder cars by just disabling 2 cylinderws in a 6-cylinder engine. Then the overclocker is a person who is using some tools and knowledge to enable those 2 cylinders back..

It is better to imagine that the car is made with a traditional carborator. Then the overclocker adds fuel injection. Then car manufacturers adopt fuel injection. Then the overclocker moves to turbo charging. He also grinds out the intake and exhaust manifolds, and replaces the muffler, to run air through faster. Gets more power out of the engine, but if he overdoes it then he shortens the life.
