While what you say is technically correct, if they were to do it now they would lose their listing on the NYSE and TSX. That is the reason they did this deal and did not buy them outright like they did Hiku and Doja. Aurora tried to move too early so did Aphria. They both got spanked by the regulators and had to lose money by spinning off Australis and the company in Florida whose name I can not remember at the moment. If they were permitted to, Canopy would already own Acreage
