I was thinking about the endless orders stopping the run on the share price over the past month or two. Do you think a sophisticated seller could have been trying to dump a massive number of shares without bringing the price down by using triggered limit orders?
Someone could set orders that are triggered by share price movement, bid/ask movement, and also OTO (one triggers the other) in order to stack multiple orders that wouldn't be visible in the L2 until after the trigger is hit.
Not saying this is what happened I'm just speculating that somebody who didn't want to show their hand could have been using some of these tactics to dump shares without putting up a huge ask wall. Purely a theory.
