"The Star is NOT a multi million dollar media company.....the company that owns it IS."

Its part of a billion dollar company, and the building, presses and land that the Star has and resides on are for sure worth many millions.

The Vancouver Sun and the Ottawa Citizen and the Montreal Gazzette are also all owned by canwest. As are many major and well respected newspapers in Canada.
Actually the Toronto Star you mention is actually considered pretty tabloidish not the windsor star.
