From all the news that has been published recently. The last most encouraging one was the republican chair of the senate finance committee voicing support for cannabis banking. Being able to move the money across borders is more important than being able to move cannabis across borders.

US legalization will be no different then Federal Canadian legalization, Feds General cannabis regulation, which they allow State and municipal governments to decide When, Where, and how or even if their cities will have legal weed, Decriminalization, or no legal access. As a mater of fact, its all ready started some states have capped THC levels, some are prohibiting candy edibles just like Canada and investors with all the Rent garbage missed the most important Weed/Acreage news of last week, that is New York only decriminalized cannabis and is now a fine based system, which means no recreational sales, production, or public use. Hope your investment can holdup with medical sales only in New York.

Cuomo signs legislation decriminalizing marijuana use in NY

July 29, 2019 01:27 PM

ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation decriminalizing marijuana use in New York state.

The legislation reduces the penalty for unlawful possession of marijuana to a violation punishable by a fine for possession of any amount of marijuana under two ounces. The penalty is $50 for possessing less than an ounce of pot or a maximum of $200 for one to two ounces.

It also creates a process for people who have been convicted for possessing small amounts of marijuana to have their records expunged.

"Communities of color have been disproportionately impacted by laws governing marijuana for far too long, and today we are ending this injustice once and for all," Cuomo said in a statement. "By providing individuals who have suffered the consequences of an unfair marijuana conviction with a path to have their records expunged and by reducing draconian penalties, we are taking a critical step forward in addressing a broken and discriminatory criminal justice process."

State lawmakers considered legalizing marijuana for recreational use this year, but that legislation stalled.

The law takes effect 30 days from Monday.
