Reeling is the process of winding a single cocoon around a bobbin to make it easier to handle. Multiple fibers are twisted together to form thread.

Sometimes these are separate stages whil other equipment can reel and spin at the same time.

Reeling and spinning are two very labor-intensive processes, though some more automated machinery is being developed.
