I don't know how to figure that out. Did you compare Dell's total revenue to HP's quarter to quarter ? Do you mean just the simple fact that Dell's share of AMD went from zero to something small ? Or do you mean "Dell gained PC market share because they are now selling AMD-based PC's" ?

What I did notice is that AMD's market share gains in servers seems to be reversed significantly last quarter. That ought to be very discouraging to an AMD-centric point of view. Because

1) server share is the most "sticky" segment, and resists change, except for very strong performance reasons.

and 2) AMD had a lot of momentum in share gain. Much of the hope of AMD high profits (to fuel growth and acuisitions) was likely built on server profits.

and 3) if server share can be reversed, and retail desktop has already been reversed, and gaming has been reversed, it should give a hint to you (I mean personally to you; other AMD fans seem to be hopeless), that notebook share might be just headed to a plateau, not to indefinite rise.

Honestly and sincerely, Rink, I do think that people who expect AMD stock price to gain much, are ignoring many negatives that will just pile up starting in january.
