They were a Canadian group and one of my favorites 50 years ago, back in 1969. I once read somewhere American Woman was an "indirect" reference to the USA by the group and not any "American Woman" in particular which you can understand if you listen closely to the vocals. This live performance came much later than the previous one, on a very popular weekly TV show that I tuned into regularly. Ah the good ole days. ;p
Notice that Burton Cummings had grown his "famous" mustache at this point and that Randy Bachman had left the group and formed his own outfit, Bachman Turner Overdrive, aka BTO.
And when it comes to CYTR, SK, SOON, et al, all I can can say with any degree of certainty is, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet!! At least that what I counting on. LOL!!
