Pure spite. He thought that settling with Global VR would mean he was off the hook. I assume he thought similarly about the bank, since he was paying the mortgage at that time.
He's mad because Global VR and the bank cooperated with the FBI/DOJ and the two criminole cases against him.
Just pure spite for the parties he defrauded. How dare they turn him into the authorities!!!
BTW, I'm watching a Russian movie called "Lieutenant" and one of the supporting actor roles has a cat named 'Katovsky".
