Breath gas analysis -

Breath gas analysis is a method for gaining information on the clinical state of an individual by monitoring volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the exhaled breath. Exhaled breath is naturally produced by the human body through expiration and therefore can be collected in non-invasively and in an unlimited way.[1] VOCs in exhaled breath can represent biomarkers for certain pathologies (lung cancer, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and others). Breath gas concentration can then be related to blood concentrations via mathematical modeling as for example in blood alcoholtesting.

For some it’s beyond their thinking

BAC — Blood Alcohol Concentration

Doesn’t test the Blood but correlates to what the Alcohol in Blood is

BTC — Blood THC Concentration

Doesn’t test the Blood but correlates to what the THC in Blood is

Wow - Tough for some

Now the confusing part to some is it comes from the Blood when expelled from Lungs the same as the Alcohol is, but measuring take more perfected device because the molecules are smaller

Yes THC can linger 30 days in Blood but most is used THC that can’t get one high or impair ones driving but in spit and in the Past THC tester — that’s what they’ve checked for and wouldn’t get one high at all

Guess those that haven’t experienced THC have a problem understanding what I mean

BLOZF is checking that too that doesn’t get you high but linger 30 days or so and why ?

Because it’s in the Blood and can be measured and guide on the scale to Impairment as a Daily User

Which individual tolerance plays a roll in Impairment Daily-Users that use and even a little less THC can give the same effect to non-Daily Users from Daily User that charts higher but not as high as those that aren’t daily users would be more Impaired

5mgs is Colorado for everyone in Blood - That can be correlated in Breath - But 2ngs for non-Users would or could Impair the non-users but not the Daily User and why set at 5ngs

People have already won the tolerance side in Court and their Blood was above 5ngs but could prove they weren’t Impaired as Prescribe to them from a Doctor and years of proof of use

It only a Tool and needed at road side not two hours later

JMO

Old days of someone claiming they can hold their Alcohol

Bullish!t

But in Cannabis that does hold true for some but would need a higher content of used THC in one’s system to correlate with what they might be telling the Officer

Here's the full paragraph of that Olof Beck/Marilyn Heustis study you reference:

We investigated exhaled breath cannabinoid concentrations following controlled cannabinoid smoking. There is strong interest in finding alternatives to urine and blood for identifying recent drug use (23–24). To date, oral fluid is the most studied and promising alternative matrix for DUID programs (16, 25–27). However, THC is detected in oral fluid for 48 h in chronic smokers during sustained abstinence (26). Exhaled breath may offer an alternative to oral fluid testing as cannabinoid detection in this matrix may better coincide with impairment.

IMO, digga's roadside nreath/blood theory would look something like this:

Not a roadside Police issue. A roadside Paramedic issue.
