the worthless word for the day is: disworth

obs. rare
to deprive of worth; to render worthless or unworthy

(from the archaic verb worth; to happen, to become
the stem is prob. the same as that of L. vertere, to
turn with the sense in Germanic having developed
into that of to turn into, to become)

"Nothing more disworthes man than Cowardice."
- Owen Feltham,
Resolves divine, morall, politicall (1627)

or, what do you make of this:
"My intent is not to render words worthless, or
disworth them, but rather to suggest to the reader
that some of these most obscure and neglected words
may actually be worthy of seeing the light of day."
- submitted as suggestion for new wwftd disclaimer
