When I was an auditor, looking at the company's A/R aging schedule was standard procedure when we reviewed that account to ensure A/R and the allowance for doubtful accounts balances were recorded appropriately. Might be one of the reasons why we have still never seen an audit here...I've been very skeptical of those A/R balances myself for over a year now.
