I wouldn't be concerned about him or the media outlets until the work and submission is a go.
And besides, it's kind of odd that he hasn't even been mentioned throughout the recent media hoopla surrounding the interviews. After all, the interviews are about "the story", right? I mean, wasn't "he" suppose to be the one that would reach out to everyone with our story?
Meh!...oh well. We'll learn soon enough.
