Grubmaster mentioned that it's merely temporary and as soon as they have the functionality built back in, they'll be marked as read on your browser.

Here is a technical description of the cause:

This is occurring because there are currently two versions of read_msg.asp - one is used when you have Ignore toggled on, and a different one when Ignore is toggled off.

Your browser changes link color on pages to the "visited" color if it sees that it is already in your brower's cache. When you have Ignore on, your browser will have stored read_msg_ig.asp?message_id=number in your browser's cache. However; most of the applications like board.asp, profile.asp and search use the standard URL read_msg.asp?message_id=number. If you read that post with the "ignore is on" version, the non-ignore version is not in your cache so your browser does not see it as having been already visited.

This will go away when the Ignore logic is put into the new version of read_msg.asp.
