No way dude, this is like owning a whorehouse when prostitution is legalized but only with big-money can control the zoning of the real estate people can hook up in. Think about it, IIPR owns the “cat house” and the cats can’t get a house without a $250,000 permit and a bag full of cash delivered to the mayor and a list of other tertiary offices from water, power, and soil usage run-off regs. The red tape alone means the little guy can’t become a middle guy and get to big guy because there are only little growers and those big engage to deal with the beurocractic red tape. So IIPR offers people or businesses that just want to grow protection from the red tape and hassle of dealing with Boss Hogg and Roscoe chasing after Daisy & Uncle Jesse’s gin distillery.
