Its an old and tired rant trying to use the 13th amendment to defend what modern journalist are doing today. Fine, they have a right to say whatever they want, but to print sensationalism and half truths is a long way from journalism you could depend upon as the facts.
If youre so blind that you actually take current journalism at face value, then I feel sorry for you.
Many of these companies exist. That is not even the issue.
The reporter and editor stated opinions without fact checking. The result is very clear what happens if they are wrong. Tabloids pay the price frequently for opinions. Check your local courthouse for the piles of cases.
