#5329 RE: Jakito #5328

Welcome Jakito
SolarWindow is a ver interesting company that seems to be taking for ever to deliver on their promise.

Their base technology put simply is a translucent solar cell that will generate a small charge, but it is very small. Connect lots of them together and you start generating a reasonable charge. They seem to have developed a technique to apply them as a film or spray onto glass being manufactured and or already installed along with edge connectors to gather the charge.

The laws of physics come in in terms of the resistance that will be introduced to run a small electric charge over say 6 feet distance to the edge. Even with "micro" width connections there will be significant resistance reducing the power delivered to the edge connector.

Hence requiring them to produce something bigger than a square foot, which is the largest we have seen and was about 4-5 years ago.

So very keen to see their next demonstration. If they can make a product that delivers the power their "one year payback" papers describe then they will be well worth an investment, assuming they have enough capital to get product rolling and marketing to get the solution adopted.
