Of course it is not a good sign if a company goes dark because they can't pay the bills. It's even worse if they can pay the bills and go dark (unofficially) anyway...

But... as value investors we are not investing based on statistics. Every company is different. There isn't another company out there like HERB which is owned 83% by the Chinese government, generating $150M cash every year, AND trading at a P/E of 0.03. Roughly 7x cheaper than SIAF.

Both SIAF and HERB are $15 stocks. Fair value.

SIAF has a growth story. HERB does not.
HERB has cash flow. SIAF does not.
Ownership is different as well.

Solomon is struggling because he has no cash.
Cash is power!!!!
HERB has lots of it. They can buy an army with it...

Together.... these companies can solve the food problem in China.
But they don't listen to me.

PDRX is an example of a dark company that pays frequent dividends.
Check out their dividend history.

But nobody has an idea what the company is worth.
