I agree, political climate change to expand Medicaid and Medicare as politicians declined Federal Expansion and the consequences to those States rural medical treatment are clear. Thats why I posted the link earlier about those States that have been looking for waivers from the Feds to get money flowing back into the health care system.

I also believe as you do, the deficiencies will be taken care of, and in a Hail Mary last second pass for the touch down.

Lets be realistic, the local banks dont want the hospital to shut down as it most likely provides some of the highest paying jobs in the community.

Those employees are the most likely to own homes and if those jobs and homes were lost in the community what pray tell would happen to the local real estate market valuations?

Those looking to retire in a local community would want near by medical treatment facilities or simply would chose other communities to retire in.
Businesses looking expand would shun those ares where health care is not available.

There is a lot riding on the success of this Hospital and others within these states that decided to not participate in the expansion of Medicare and Medicaid, they are now feeling the pain of their decisions and their constituents misfortune.
