Rocket, I almost don't want to admit in a public post how I played the XKEM run. I used a much less sophisticated method than most. I bought at just over .01 and kept averaging up to .07. I sold a day after the high at .075.

I used a majority of indicators on barcharts to notice if the winds were changing and put a greater emphasis on the Trendspotter. Once I saw that XKEM was going down toward the support I was able to anticipate that it was going to change to a sell. Most people if they did wait until it changed would have got out around .06-.065.

The Trendspotter gives a stock room to run which suits my investment style. Others might like to play it tighter. I'm not saying you can't buy a stock if the Trendspotter says sell, but if you are in a stock that is trending up and it changes it should raise red flags and prompt further investigation.

It was later that I started buying in under .034. And averaged down to .024. I wasn't flipping so I didn't make any money on the mini-runs/bounces in August, September, October. Learned a lesson there...

Rocket... Great question. I think for me, it was, or shall I say.....
Greed. My account went from months sitting @ 50-60k. Down for months 40-50k. No funds for the last 2 months to average in @ the low, low, low. When it happened, I went from 60k Friday morning to a close @ over 90k. That was the start. Monday well into the 100's. I think about 2-3 weeks into the run...sitting @200-300k. I had finally made it.(so I thought) Rocket. In my life that was the quickest I had tacked on a quarter mil to my account in 3 weeks time, and damit I was going for a million.
The last week before doomsday, my account was a steady 350+ .
To prove my greed theory, I wasn't selling one single dam share.
It just didn't matter. I was Known in my own mind as the founder of XKEM to all friends and family. The day wepeaked and crashed, it came as such a shock, I was in disbelief. For the next several weeks, everyday I watched in horror, knowing full well that....
This is the day we turn. It never came. When all said and done, I knew at that time it was more than likely going to get worse before it got better. By June first I was out completely, most @ .0315-25. The remaining @ .0270-80. After that, there was one more run into early to mid 3's. From there thats all she wrote. Moral of the story lesson of a life time learned in 3-4 weeks time. I had totally thrown all logic out the window from the moment we starte our initial run. Never again.

Jedi, It was you that turned me onto XKEM back in late April early May at .012. I made some $ but left 100k on the table. I think we totally under-estimated the effect of over 1.4 billion shares and who was holding and waiting to dump. Yes Chasman dumped a ton. But I think there were other players holding millions dumping, not to mention offshore shorting, if not naked shorting of the stock.

I think we treated the Nigeria FDA as if they were the US FDA and Xkem was ready to start selling the drug. In retrospect it was the first of many hurdles that needed to be overcome and people started realizing "reality" the day of the news. Let alone the "sell the news" philosophy.

I for one got caught up in the frenzy mindset thinking it was going to .20-.40. 1.4 billion shares is alot of shares and the stock did get way ahead of itself once reality set in as far as no factory and future financing. Definitely learned my lesson on Greed even though I sold on the way up and at .11. Just did not stick to my original plan. I was mesmerized making $30,000 + a day. A first for me. Learned a good lesson. Stick to your trading plan and be happy with a profit.

Do you have any T/A indicators on Xkem other than oversold? lol

Always appreciate your post!

Rocket: For me, looking back (with pain), the red flag should have been the handling of the PR's (or lack thereof) during the days immediately before and after the approval of Nicosan.

Great board!
