Rare earth elements (REE) are in just about every rock type. They do exist at Hay Mountain, just like the exist in my back yard.

Is there a history of REE mining in Arizona? No. Are there any potential minable deposits of REE in Arizona? None that I know of.

When JB said he was "surprised" by the presence of REE at Hay Mountain, he was being disingenuous. He knows better.

No, which is why Briscoe found their presence (at whatever levels they were at) 'surprising'. Someone else on this board will tell you that REE's are 'everywhere' at background levels in a ceaseless quest to denigrate Briscoe.
