Yes it was, on no news from the Company. There was a posting from Market Watcher but do not think it was new. They have a price target on Cad .70 (.52US), though it appears this target price was established the first of the year or earlier.
Either someone is promoting the stock or possibly there was a leak of news coming soon from the company. I lean towards the latter since there was not a major decline going into the close on Friday, there was some but to be expected going into a long weekend and the US side of trading will be closed, not sure how much volume comes from the US vs. CA., however the US volume on Friday was over the top.
I hate holidays where either Market is not trading especially the US, since it affects me ):
