Norm Mineta said something during an interview that may explain why society can seem to get anything done over the past few years.

The word "compromise" is, today, even a bad word. People think of it as a weakness, rather than a strength to get something done.

Well right.
Other than Warren Buffet buying you up, I can't think of a case where bringing in a hedge fund, VC, or money group has helped a share price.
This company has had strong returns for quite some time, and even though it seems to be incredibly tightly (and questionably) controlled, the return for common shareholders has been strong.
Not sure why anyone with shares would want to rock that boat?

with that said, I obviously don't know the whole story.
