Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason for online buy restrictions. I've been in numerous plays that had them only to be unrestricted later with no explanation.

One ticker went from low pennies to a quarter range with an online buy restriction.
Peeps that don't like etrade, change brokers.

Complaining to them does little to change anything.

VRUS going nowhere but up.

What violation? You're just making $hit up as you normally do. Why don't you post with a little respect, it would go a long way in your case.
The Bully of the board has spoken nonsense yet again. Just stop.

"While we don't know what the violation is that prompted the stoppage of online trading" What kind of 'violation' are you talking about? If it were a violation determined by a trading regulatory authority, all brokers would have restrictions on VRUS. That's not the case with my broker. What good is it to have an online broker, if you have to phone in to buy stocks. When a broker can't give you a clear explanation as to why they make you phone in, there is something suspicious about that broker.
I remember a few years ago, a stock I was in, was restricted from trading by some brokers and their connected market makers. It was later found out that they were short and therefore did not want others to buy the shares they needed to buy. I'm not saying that this is the case here, but if there is a violation of some kind the broker should not hide what that violation is.

Following the rules?? Lol. They may be following their own rules and changing them as they go along. To think that etrade knows something worth restricting the stock that no other firm knows nor FINRA is flawed logic especially when you think about the fact they only restrict the easiest was to trade, online. It’s no problem to call in and sit on the phone for 15 minutes while the pps changes to request a trade. That is etrade a tell in my opinion. Ya you can trade but it’s only at an extreme disadvantage and inconvenience.
Etrade has been caught w their hands in the $VRUS cookie jar and their clients have every justifiable reaso. To be pissed and complain because at the end of the day, I don’t need my brokers permission to spend my money. FINRA and the SEC are our protective services, not brokers and MMs.
