apparently Bitstamp believes an investigation is warranted in this situation. perhaps they have evidence of something suspicious that has not been made public yet.

to investigate a 'customer' selling their legitimately owned btc would be a bizarre move...but who knows these days...perhaps we will learn more in the near future...hopefully it is just legitimate selling and not criminal activity...

The problem is a btc bag holder can notify his friends and family to short btc, then dump it onto the market and purposely tank the price and they all make money on the short. Then they can buy it back it up with the profits.

The market cap for crypto is too small. All we can do as hodlers and buy when the the opportunities present themselves and try not to sell on fear. Day traders can do very well with the manipulation too with the high fluctuations.

It’s when institutions step in and take this market cap up into trillion/s then individuals won’t have as much of an influence as they will become smaller fish.

Each time these dumps happen too, it can be healthy because it is taking one majority holder and hopefully diversifying it into the market to more smaller holders.
