The 101st PGA Championship is officially underway at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.

This is an exciting day in the sports world, and by Sunday, professional golf will have a new champion.

That winner will take home $11 million - not to mention the money he'll make through sponsorship agreements.

Of course, we can expect some more winners at the sports books in Las Vegas. Golf wagers account for about $5 million in revenues for Nevada sports betting.

And the tournament itself is expected to generate over $100 million for the local Long Island economy.

But I'll be watching the PGA Championship with something very different in mind that could generate returns large enough to blow all of that out of the water...
