All the MM has to show are the shares he is willing to buy or sell at the moment. But he can change that number in a NY second.

Anything below the 10,000 share tier will not show up; including if afterwards your order has a partial fill. The shares left do not show up if under 10,000 shares and they do not have to show it. (I have a problem when they partial fill my order and then go to the next lower bid and start filling that order then ignoring the rest of my unfilled higher bid order).
