The Donald brought 6 more months worth of delayed tariff talk, putting a bit more ease on the trade war and more than ample amount of time for both sides to think they are closing in on a deal.
Surely they will continue the song and dance and keep this charade going, while never actually signing an actual trade deal. But in the meantime, this extra time can be seen as bullish by the market.
The threat of increasing the tariffs is what kicked this selloff, well off. Could just as easily go rippy mode and squeeze some shorts. If only for a little bit.
