You caught me. As I hit the "submit" key, I said to myself "pan-genome scanning?"

Of course, I meant screening.

Now, how do I explain the way I understand the difference.

First of all I see sequencing as having to be done the same by all and SNPs having to be made of each block of DNA.

Screening, as I understand it can be done differently according to the method of the screener and its efficacy depends on which one does it best. SNPs are made only on select blocks of DNA.

Let's take a deck of cards. Sequencing would snp each card.

But perhaps I've made the judgment the info I want will come most likely from just the face cards. I snp only the face cards.

Snping only the face cards would be similar to the .04 on the scale of something DNAP required to snp blocks of dna in the MALD screening for AIMs.

Clumsy at best, and perhaps even more confusing, but I know you'll correct my gaps with your better understanding.
