I received a response from CAR yesterday evening. Rough translation is as follows.

SUBJECT: Response request for environmental permit Mining Title ILE-09551. Registered

Dear Mr. ______:

In response to your request for information, we kindly inform you that once verified, our Environmental Records Management System (SAE) establishes that for the Mining Concession Contract No. ILE-09551, there is an application for Environmental License in the CAR file 46825, which is still to be decided.

Situation is that to date does not endorse the development of any type of mining activity within the area of the mining concession contract No. ILE-09551, since there is no environmental instrument approved.

Thanks for your attention.

The response basically says they are still in review. No mention of further information needed and certainly no mention of permit denial. Original response follows.

En atención a su solicitud de información amablemente se le informa que una vez verificado nuestro Sistema de Administración de Expedientes Ambientales (SAE), se establece que para el Contrato de concesión minera No. ILE-09551, se tiene trámite de solicitud de Licencia Ambiental en el Expediente CAR 46825, el cual aún está por decidir.

Situación esta que a la fecha no avala el desarrollo de ningún tipo de actividad minera dentro del área del contrato de concesión minera No. ILE-09551, ya que no se cuenta con el instrumento ambiental aprobado.
