My point was that GS Capital likely accepted the out of the money option (almost unheard of premium to the current market price) because they see value-creating M&A or some other catalysts in the pipeline. At the very least, they see some probability of that option being in the money at expiration. My hypothesis could be wrong, but I think circumstantial evidence supports my case. Time will tell.

I just don't see their involvement being one-off. They have numerous opportunities to look at and only invest the time and resources on due diligence if they think they can deploy significant capital over time.
