Good point that is another way to look at it. Going through an extensive audit will reveal a lot. It is like getting an inspection done on a house and find out it has foundation issues. I would expect $ARGQ to push the audit costs on the sellers in the future if they are desperate to sell less risk that way. That is also a good way to find out if they have something to hide IMO.
