I tend to discount those type of theories as I do with most of the "total scam" theories because, bottom line, it comes down to a ceo not wanting to go to jail or suffer through SEC action.
My own thoughts and it is purely my own speculation so please don't buy, sell, hold, or poop because of this, is that he may have tried to finesse which assets were put into the consolidated entity.
Having seen the eyes of the world on him in the form of the reporters, the shareholders and the RCMP, I think he may now realize that EVERYTHING has to go into the public entity and nothing should stay in private pockets. So ship 'em back to make sure they look better OR ELSE.
Again, just my own theory and not worth more or less than anyone else's.
