Kentucky Senator and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell spearheaded the Farm Bill. Acreage has political ties, and so does Kentucky. I'm pretty sure Mitch McConnell has his hands on a few farms and is working hard to make sure his state is the cream of the crop.
