J&J actually helps VTGN if Elevate trial is a success. This NIH study was started in 2014, as a mono therapy. It took 5 years for them to get 19 people enrolled due to the structure. Vtgn pivoted away from a mono therapy model in 2017.

I bet the company did not even know the severe nature of depression these trial participants had. Average 9 yrs of suffering.
