Re price fluctuations - you can watch PM’s rise overnight as buyers in the PacRim trade currencies for metals, then when N.Y. opens...the sellers dump (trading gold for paper or maybe just paper for paper, lol) - to each his own. Gold always has been and always will be a safe haven long term, but as you say, today the USD is King!
