I read the same article and the author knows very little about what is happening in the robotic surgery - the author thinks of Verb Surgical like some on this board do that it is just a robot.

I've posted this in the past and its worth repeating:

There will be many robotic surgery platform (general surgery, specialty, Ortho, Spine, Neuro) that can utilize the VERB Surgical software platform, that Digital surgery 4.0. I wouldn't be surprised if Titan utilizes it or Auris or CMR or TRXC or virtual incision or Medrobotics. I wouldn't be surprised if Intuitive realizes that they have to go from a closed system to an open platform like VERB or even just develop a generation of their da vinci that could be used on an open platform like VERB.
