The share compensation is a bonus. If these two new board members help out in securing larger loans then the upside in their compensation will be huge.
I agree that a bonus in share compensation isn't normally bad. But at these levels? USD 60k should be more than enough for a board member.
But, what the heck, if that is what it takes to get some heavy financing with fair repayment terms then I'm all for it.
The bad thing is that they get a fixed USD amount in shares. They should get a fixed amount of shares, say 5000. It's a few hundred dollars now. WORK FOR THAT BONUS MONEY. You want to get paid more? Make sure the stock price goes up then.
