Who is this mysterious "we"?



Mysterious? I don't think so. "We" is you and I.

My grade-school English teachers taught the class not to use a "double-negative". It's much easier for the reader to understand us if we say what we do want.



You did know what I meant didn't you? Never heard of a typo , or a slip of the pen? Or didn't they teach you about those?

I meant to say, like I said before "I don't expect them to beat expectations" but I changed my sentence and forgot to move the word "not", or I just typed it by accident (I can't recall) on my phone.

Maybe you don't know, but posts where you try to teach other people about improving their writing skills are considered off topic (no matter what the rest of the post is about), and normally should be removed. Please keep your message about the topic. If you don't understand what I write, or if you are not sure what I mean, then just ask polite. That's enough. No reason to start giving English classes here. You can use other boards for that.
