#42111 RE: Houndish #42109

Houndish – more important than our reaction will be the market reaction. If this is true, the market reaction would likely wait until the reasons for the departure and the replacement are known.

From what has been posted on this board in the past, I don’t think he’d be missed but as you pointed out – I’m not sure enough other people follow this stock closely enough to create a reaction based on his departure alone. I’d be personally surprised if he was ousted – unless he got caught for something like having his fingers in the cookie jar – but I’d be even more surprised if left for a better offer. I'm not convinced this is real but if it is let’s hope it wasn’t due to a sudden lack of faith in the company – which would go unannounced – watch for the “more time with the family” line. It is also possible that there could be health reasons – which are market neutral. The next part of the equation would be the replacement. If they bring in someone with a track record of financing transitional companies – it would be a good thing. If they get someone with record of being a greedy seat warmer – it would be a bad thing – but probably wouldn’t plunge the stock right away since….. Now if he comes out and says something like, “I recognize that the transition of cygx from a research oriented company to a DNA manufacturing entity will require someone with more experience myself.” and they name someone with the right experience, then I think the stock would get a lift – a sustained one.

A most excellent way for MS to get his bonus - BTW.
