The float has nothing to do with the market cap, just because the shares in the control block can’t be traded yet doesn’t mean they don’t exist. They are still representing a piece of the company, and in the event of a liquidation or sale of the business they would still get paid their portion of the proceeds. That means your shares are worth less with more shares in existence.
